Saint Anthony Mary Claret
Saint Anthony Mary Claret was a Spanish priest and missionary born on December 23, 1807, in Sallent, Spain. He founded the Claretian Missionaries and dedicated his life to preaching, education, and social justice. Claret was known for his commitment to spreading the Catholic faith and addressing the needs of the poor.
In 1850, he became the Archbishop of Santiago de Cuba, where he worked tirelessly to improve the spiritual and social conditions of the people. He was also a prolific writer, producing numerous books and pamphlets on religious topics. Saint Anthony Mary Claret died on October 24, 1870, and was canonized in 1950.
