Safa and Marwah
Safa and Marwah are two small hills located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. They hold significant importance in Islam as part of the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. Pilgrims walk back and forth between these hills, a ritual known as Sa'i, which commemorates the search for water by Hagar, the wife of the prophet Ibrahim.
The distance between Safa and Marwah is approximately 450 meters. This act symbolizes perseverance and faith, as pilgrims seek to emulate Hagar's determination. The hills are now enclosed within the Masjid al-Haram, making it accessible for millions of visitors each year.
