Sadegh Hedayat
Sadegh Hedayat was an influential Iranian writer and intellectual, born on June 17, 1903, in Tehran, Iran. He is best known for his novel The Blind Owl, which is considered a masterpiece of modern Persian literature. Hedayat's works often explore themes of existentialism, alienation, and the human condition, reflecting his deep understanding of the complexities of life.
Hedayat spent much of his life in Europe, where he was exposed to various literary movements and philosophies. His experiences abroad significantly shaped his writing style and worldview. Tragically, he struggled with depression and ultimately took his own life on January 9, 1961, leaving behind a lasting literary legacy.
