Sabiha Gökçen
Sabiha Gökçen was the first female fighter pilot in Turkey and one of the first in the world. Born on March 22, 1913, she was adopted by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey. Gökçen played a significant role in the Turkish Air Force and became a symbol of women's empowerment in aviation.
In addition to her military career, Gökçen was also an accomplished aviator and participated in various air shows and competitions. She is honored in Turkey with Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, which serves as a major hub for both domestic and international flights.
