Saber-Tooth Tiger
The Saber-Tooth Tiger, scientifically known as Smilodon, was a prehistoric carnivorous mammal that lived during the Pleistocene epoch, approximately 2.5 million to 10,000 years ago. It is best known for its long, curved canine teeth, which could grow up to 8 inches long. These powerful predators primarily hunted large herbivores, such as woolly mammoths and bison.
Saber-toothed tigers were robust animals, with strong forelimbs and a stocky build, allowing them to tackle large prey. They were not true tigers but belonged to a different family of felids. Fossils have been found in North America and South America, providing insight into their habitat and behavior.
