Sabbats
Sabbats are special days of rest and celebration in various religious traditions, particularly in Judaism and Wicca. In Judaism, the Sabbath, or Shabbat, occurs weekly from Friday evening to Saturday evening, commemorating the day God rested after creating the world. It is a time for prayer, family gatherings, and refraining from work.
In Wicca, Sabbats are seasonal festivals that honor the cycles of nature and the changing seasons. There are eight major Sabbats, including Samhain and Beltane, each celebrating different aspects of the earth's cycles. These observances often involve rituals, feasting, and connecting with the natural world.
