Sa'i is an important ritual performed during the Islamic pilgrimage known as Hajj or the lesser pilgrimage, Umrah. It involves walking back and forth seven times between two hills, Safah and Marwah, located near the Kaaba in Mecca. This act commemorates the desperate search of Hagar, the wife of the Prophet Ibrahim, for water for her son, Isma'il.
During Sa'i, pilgrims begin at Safah and walk to Marwah, then return to Safah, repeating this process until they complete seven circuits. This ritual symbolizes perseverance and faith, reminding Muslims of the importance of trust in Allah during challenging times.
