SS President Hoover
The SS President Hoover was a passenger ship launched in 1930, originally serving the American President Lines. It was named after Herbert Hoover, the 31st President of the United States. The ship was designed for transpacific voyages, connecting the United States with destinations in Asia.
During World War II, the SS President Hoover was repurposed as a troop transport vessel. After the war, it returned to commercial service but was eventually retired in the 1960s. The ship is notable for its Art Deco design and was one of the last of its kind to operate in the Pacific.
