SS Normandie
The SS Normandie was a French ocean liner launched in 1932, known for its Art Deco design and luxurious amenities. It was one of the largest and fastest passenger ships of its time, serving the French Line and primarily operating on the Transatlantic route between France and New York City.
During its service, the Normandie won the prestigious Blue Riband for the fastest transatlantic crossing. However, it was seized by the United States during World War II and was ultimately destroyed by a fire in 1942 while docked in New York. The ship remains a symbol of maritime elegance and innovation.
