SPECT cameras
A SPECT camera, or Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography camera, is a medical imaging device used to visualize blood flow and metabolic activity in the body. It works by detecting gamma rays emitted from radioactive tracers injected into the patient. This allows doctors to assess various conditions, including heart disease and certain cancers.
The SPECT camera creates detailed 3D images by rotating around the patient and capturing multiple 2D images. These images are then processed to provide valuable information about organ function and blood circulation, aiding in diagnosis and treatment planning for various medical conditions.
