SPECT camera
A SPECT camera, or Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography camera, is a medical imaging device used to visualize blood flow and metabolic activity in the body. It works by detecting gamma rays emitted from radioactive tracers injected into the patient. This allows doctors to assess various conditions, including heart disease and certain cancers.
The SPECT camera creates detailed 3D images by rotating around the patient and capturing multiple views. These images help healthcare professionals diagnose and monitor diseases, guiding treatment decisions. SPECT is often used in conjunction with other imaging techniques, such as CT scans or MRI, for comprehensive evaluations.
