SOS
"SOS" is an internationally recognized distress signal used in emergencies. It was first introduced in the early 1900s and is often associated with maritime communication. The signal is represented in Morse code as three short signals, followed by three long signals, and then three short signals again (··· --- ···). This simple pattern makes it easy to remember and transmit.
Although many people think "SOS" stands for phrases like "Save Our Ship," it actually has no specific meaning. It was chosen for its simplicity and effectiveness in conveying urgency. Today, it is widely used in various emergency situations, including by aviation and search and rescue teams.
