SHARPs
SHARPs, or Self-Harm Awareness and Recovery Programs, are initiatives designed to support individuals who engage in self-harming behaviors. These programs aim to raise awareness about the underlying issues that lead to self-harm, such as emotional distress or mental health challenges. They provide resources, education, and coping strategies to help individuals find healthier ways to manage their feelings.
In addition to awareness, SHARPs often offer support groups and counseling services. These resources create a safe space for individuals to share their experiences and learn from others. By fostering a sense of community, SHARPs encourage recovery and promote overall mental well-being.
