SETI@home
SETI@home is a scientific project that uses distributed computing to analyze radio signals from space. Launched in 1999, it invites volunteers to download a software program that processes data collected by the Arecibo Observatory and other telescopes, searching for signs of extraterrestrial intelligence.
Participants contribute their computer's idle processing power to help analyze vast amounts of data. The project aims to identify patterns or signals that could indicate the presence of intelligent life beyond Earth. By engaging the public in this research, SETI@home raises awareness about the search for extraterrestrial life and the importance of scientific collaboration.
