Sámi languages
The Sámi languages are a group of Uralic languages spoken by the Sámi people, who inhabit regions across northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, and parts of Russia. There are several distinct Sámi languages, including Northern Sámi, Southern Sámi, and Inari Sámi, each with its own unique characteristics and dialects.
These languages are part of the larger Uralic language family, which also includes Finnish and Hungarian. The Sámi languages are considered endangered, with efforts underway to revitalize them through education and cultural initiatives, ensuring that future generations can continue to speak and preserve their linguistic heritage.
