Ruby Bridges
Ruby Bridges is an American civil rights activist known for being the first African American child to integrate an all-white elementary school in the South. In 1960, at just six years old, she attended William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, Louisiana, amidst significant opposition and protests.
Her courageous actions became a symbol of the struggle for racial equality in the United States.
