Royalist Forces
Royalist Forces were military groups that supported the monarchy during conflicts such as the English Civil War in the 17th century. They aimed to uphold the authority of the reigning monarch, particularly King Charles I, against Parliamentarian forces. The Royalists were often composed of nobles, landowners, and loyal subjects who believed in the divine right of kings.
These forces were characterized by their use of traditional cavalry and infantry tactics. They were often well-equipped and motivated by loyalty to the crown. However, they faced significant challenges, including internal divisions and the growing strength of the Parliamentarians, which ultimately led to their defeat in the civil war.
