Royal Scots
The Royal Scots, officially known as the Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment), is one of the oldest infantry regiments in the British Army. Established in 1633, it has a rich history of service, participating in numerous conflicts, including the Napoleonic Wars and both World Wars. The regiment is known for its distinctive uniform, which includes a kilt, reflecting its Scottish heritage.
In 2006, the Royal Scots merged with the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and other regiments to form the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Despite this change, the legacy of the Royal Scots continues, with its traditions and history celebrated within the modern regiment.
