Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment)
The Royal Scots, officially known as The Royal Regiment, is one of the oldest infantry regiments in the British Army, established in 1633. It has a rich history, having served in numerous conflicts around the world, including the Napoleonic Wars and both World Wars. The regiment is known for its distinctive uniform, which includes a kilt and a Glengarry cap.
In 2006, The Royal Scots merged with other regiments to form the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Despite this change, the legacy and traditions of The Royal Scots continue to be honored, and the regiment remains an important part of Scotland's military heritage.
