Royal Ordnance Corps
The Royal Ordnance Corps (ROC) was a branch of the British Army responsible for the supply and management of ammunition and explosives. Established in 1855, it played a crucial role in ensuring that military operations had the necessary ordnance to function effectively. The corps was involved in various conflicts, providing logistical support and expertise in munitions.
In 1993, the ROC was merged into the Royal Logistic Corps (RLC), which now encompasses a broader range of logistical functions. The legacy of the ROC continues through the RLC, which maintains the traditions and responsibilities of ordnance management within the British Army.
