Royal Lao Government
The Royal Lao Government was the official government of Laos before the communist takeover in 1975. It was established in the early 20th century and operated under a monarchy, with the King of Laos serving as the head of state. The government aimed to modernize the country and improve the lives of its citizens while maintaining traditional values.
In 1975, the Pathet Lao, a communist movement, overthrew the Royal Lao Government, leading to the establishment of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. This marked the end of the monarchy and significant changes in the political landscape of Laos, as the new government implemented socialist policies and aligned itself with communist nations.
