Royal Irish Fusiliers
The Royal Irish Fusiliers was an infantry regiment of the British Army, established in 1881. It was formed by merging several existing regiments, including the Fusiliers and the Royal Irish Regiment. The regiment served in various conflicts, including both World Wars, and was known for its distinctive green uniform and regimental cap badge.
In 1968, the Royal Irish Fusiliers was amalgamated with other regiments to form the Royal Irish Regiment. The legacy of the Fusiliers continues through the regiment's traditions and history, honoring the contributions of its soldiers throughout the years.
