Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers
The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers was an infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1881. It originated from the merging of two older regiments, the Inniskilling Regiment of Foot and the Royal Fusiliers. The regiment served in various conflicts, including both World Wars, and was known for its distinctive cap badge featuring a silver harp.
The regiment was part of the Irish Brigade and had a strong connection to the County Tyrone and County Fermanagh regions of Northern Ireland. In 1968, it was amalgamated with other regiments to form the Royal Irish Rangers, marking the end of its independent existence.
