Royal Aircraft Establishment
The Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE) was a British research and development organization focused on aviation and aerospace technology. Established in 1907, it played a crucial role in advancing aircraft design, testing, and engineering. The RAE contributed significantly to the development of military and civilian aircraft during its operation.
Located in Farnborough, the RAE conducted various experiments and tests, including wind tunnel evaluations and flight trials. It was instrumental in the development of several notable aircraft and technologies, influencing the future of aviation. The establishment was eventually merged into the Defence Research Agency in 1991, marking the end of its independent operations.
