Roswell Army Air Field
Roswell Army Air Field was a military installation located in Roswell, New Mexico. Established during World War II, it served as a training base for bomber crews and played a significant role in the U.S. Army Air Forces. The base was known for its strategic importance and was later renamed Walker Air Force Base in 1948.
The field gained notoriety in 1947 when an incident involving a supposed UFO crash occurred nearby, leading to widespread speculation and conspiracy theories. The base was closed in 1967, and the site has since been repurposed for civilian use, including the Roswell International Air Center.
