Rorke's Drift
Rorke's Drift is a small settlement in South Africa, known for its historical significance during the Anglo-Zulu War in January 1879. It was the site of a famous battle where a small British garrison, numbering around 150 soldiers, defended a mission station against a much larger force of Zulu warriors, estimated at over 3,000.
The defense at Rorke's Drift lasted for approximately 12 hours, showcasing remarkable bravery and tactical skill from the British troops. The battle resulted in a decisive British victory, and the defenders were later awarded numerous Victoria Crosses, recognizing their acts of valor during the conflict.
