Romanian Peasant Party
The Romanian Peasant Party (Partidul Țărănesc Român) was a political party in Romania, founded in 1926. It aimed to represent the interests of the rural population and promote agrarian reform. The party emerged from the National Peasant Party, advocating for land redistribution and social justice for peasants.
During the interwar period, the Romanian Peasant Party gained significant support and participated in various governments. However, it faced challenges from other political movements, including the rise of communism and fascism. The party was ultimately suppressed after World War II, leading to its dissolution in 1947.
