Roger Maris
Roger Maris was an American professional baseball player, best known for his time with the New York Yankees. Born on September 10, 1934, in Hibbing, Minnesota, he played as an outfielder. Maris gained fame for breaking the single-season home run record in 1961, hitting 61 home runs, surpassing the legendary Babe Ruth.
Throughout his career, Maris played for the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Athletics, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a two-time American League Most Valuable Player (MVP) and was known for his strong defensive skills. Maris retired in 1968 and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984.
