Robert Scott
Robert Scott was a British explorer known for his expeditions to Antarctica in the early 20th century. He led the famous Terra Nova Expedition from 1910 to 1913, aiming to be the first to reach the South Pole. Scott and his team faced extreme weather conditions and challenges during their journey.
Tragically, Scott and his companions reached the South Pole on January 17, 1912, only to find that Roald Amundsen, a Norwegian explorer, had arrived first. On their return journey, they encountered severe hardships, and all members of Scott's party perished. Their story remains a significant part of exploration history.
