Robert Falcon Scott was a British naval officer and explorer known for his expeditions to Antarctica in the early 20th century. He led two major expeditions: the Discovery Expedition from 1901 to 1904 and the Terra Nova Expedition from 1910 to 1913. His goal was to reach the South Pole and conduct scientific research.
Scott's Terra Nova Expedition ended tragically when he and his team reached the South Pole in January 1912, only to find that Roald Amundsen, a Norwegian explorer, had arrived first. Scott and his team perished on the return journey due to harsh conditions and lack of supplies.
