Robert Bruce
Robert Bruce was a Scottish nobleman and king who played a crucial role in the Wars of Scottish Independence against England in the early 14th century. Born in 1274, he became King of Scots in 1306 and is best known for his victory at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314, which significantly boosted Scottish morale and independence efforts.
Bruce's reign was marked by his determination to secure Scotland's freedom from English rule. He implemented various military strategies and alliances, ultimately leading to the recognition of Scotland's independence in the Treaty of Edinburgh-Northampton in 1328, shortly before his death in 1329.
