Rio+20
Rio+20, officially known as the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, took place in June 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It marked the 20th anniversary of the original Earth Summit held in 1992, which focused on global environmental issues. The conference aimed to discuss sustainable development and assess progress made since the earlier summit.
The main outcomes of Rio+20 included the adoption of the "Future We Want" document, which emphasized the need for a green economy and the importance of sustainable development goals (SDGs). These goals were intended to guide global efforts in addressing challenges like poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation.
