Rio-Antirrio Bridge
The Rio-Antirrio Bridge, also known as the Charilaos Trikoupis Bridge, is a cable-stayed bridge in Greece that connects the city of Rio on the Peloponnese peninsula to Antirrio on the mainland. Opened in 2004, it spans approximately 2.88 kilometers (1.79 miles) across the Gulf of Corinth, making it one of the longest bridges of its kind in the world.
The bridge features a unique design with several towers and cables that support the roadway. It plays a crucial role in improving transportation in the region, facilitating the movement of vehicles and enhancing economic connections between the Peloponnese and mainland Greece.
