Charilaos Trikoupis Bridge
The Charilaos Trikoupis Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge located in Greece, connecting the towns of Rio and Antirio. It spans the Gulf of Corinth and is one of the longest bridges of its kind in the world, measuring approximately 2,880 meters in length. The bridge was completed in 2004 and serves as a vital transportation link, facilitating road traffic across the gulf.
Named after the Greek statesman Charilaos Trikoupis, the bridge features a distinctive design with multiple towers and cables that support the roadway. It has become an iconic symbol of modern engineering in Greece and significantly reduces travel time between the Peloponnese and mainland Greece.
