Ringed Snake
The Ringed Snake, also known as Natrix natrix, is a non-venomous snake found across Europe and parts of Asia. It typically inhabits wetlands, rivers, and ponds, where it can easily hunt for its primary diet of amphibians, fish, and small mammals. The snake is recognizable by its distinctive pattern of dark rings on a lighter background.
Ringed Snakes can grow up to 1.5 meters in length and are known for their excellent swimming abilities. They are often seen basking in the sun near water bodies. When threatened, they may play dead or release a foul-smelling substance to deter predators.
