Rikkokushi
Rikkokushi is a historical Japanese text that translates to "Six National Histories." Compiled during the early Heian period, it consists of six major works that chronicle the history of Japan from its mythical origins to the early 10th century. These texts were commissioned by the imperial court to establish a comprehensive record of Japan's past.
The six histories include Nihon Shoki, Shoku Nihon Kiryaku, Nihon Kiryaku, Shoku Nihon Shoki, Nihon Sandai Jitsuroku, and Shoku Nihon Sandai Jitsuroku. Each work serves to document significant events, figures, and cultural developments, contributing to the understanding of Japan's historical narrative and identity.
