Right-Hand Layup
A right-hand layup is a fundamental basketball move used to score points while driving towards the basket. To execute this layup, a player approaches the hoop from the right side, dribbling the ball with their right hand. As they near the basket, they take a step with their right foot, jump off that foot, and extend their right arm to lay the ball gently off the backboard or directly into the hoop.
This technique is essential for players to master, as it allows for quick scoring opportunities during fast breaks or when navigating through defenders. Practicing the right-hand layup helps improve a player's overall shooting skills and confidence around the rim.
