Right to Education Act
The Right to Education Act (RTE) is a law in India that was enacted in 2009. It ensures that every child aged 6 to 14 years has the right to free and compulsory education in a neighborhood school. The act aims to provide quality education and improve enrollment rates, especially for marginalized groups.
Under the RTE, private schools are also required to reserve 25% of their seats for children from economically weaker sections. The act emphasizes the importance of a child-friendly learning environment and mandates certain standards for schools, including teacher qualifications and infrastructure.
