Riccarton Bush
Riccarton Bush is a significant remnant of native forest located in Christchurch, New Zealand. It covers approximately 16 hectares and is home to a variety of native plants and wildlife, making it an important ecological site. The area is particularly known for its ancient kahikatea trees, which are among the tallest in the country.
The bush is part of the Riccarton House estate, which was established in the 1850s by early European settlers. Today, Riccarton Bush serves as a popular recreational area for locals and visitors, offering walking tracks and educational opportunities about New Zealand's natural heritage.
