Ric Ocasek
Ric Ocasek was an American musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the rock band The Cars. Born on March 23, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, he played a significant role in the new wave music scene of the late 1970s and 1980s. The Cars achieved commercial success with hits like "Just What I Needed" and "Drive."
In addition to his work with The Cars, Ocasek was a successful producer, working with various artists, including Weezer and Bad Brains. He was known for his distinctive voice and unique songwriting style, which blended rock with pop elements. Ocasek passed away on September 15, 2019.
