Rhino Horn
Rhino horn is a hard, keratin-based substance found on the snouts of rhinoceroses. Unlike true horns made of bone, rhino horns are composed of tightly packed hair-like fibers. They can grow up to several feet long and are primarily used by rhinos for defense and social interactions.
Despite its natural purpose, rhino horn is highly valued in some cultures for its supposed medicinal properties and as a status symbol. This demand has led to significant poaching and a decline in rhinoceros populations, prompting conservation efforts to protect these endangered species.
