Revolta de Vendée
The Revolta de Vendée was a civil conflict that took place in western France from 1793 to 1796 during the French Revolution. It arose in response to the revolutionary government's policies, including the conscription of soldiers and the secularization of the Catholic Church. The conflict was marked by fierce fighting between royalist forces and revolutionary troops.
The revolt was primarily supported by the rural population of the Vendée region, who were loyal to the monarchy and the Catholic faith. The uprising was brutally suppressed by the revolutionary government, leading to significant loss of life and widespread devastation in the area.
