Reverend Hale
Reverend Hale is a character in Arthur Miller's play, "The Crucible." He is a well-educated minister from Beverly, Massachusetts who is initially called to Salem to investigate the presence of witchcraft. Hale is confident in his knowledge of the supernatural and believes he can identify and eradicate evil.
As the play progresses, Hale undergoes a significant transformation. He becomes disillusioned with the court's proceedings and the wrongful accusations against innocent people. Ultimately, he seeks to save the lives of those unjustly accused, demonstrating his moral growth and commitment to justice.
