Response to Intervention (RTI) is an educational strategy designed to identify and support students who are struggling academically. It involves a tiered approach, where students receive varying levels of intervention based on their needs. The goal is to provide early assistance to help students succeed before they fall too far behind.
RTI typically consists of three tiers. In Tier 1, all students receive high-quality instruction in the general classroom. In Tier 2, students who need additional help receive targeted interventions in small groups. Finally, Tier 3 offers intensive, individualized support for students who continue to struggle, often involving specialized instruction.
