Republic of North Macedonia
The Republic of North Macedonia is a country located in Southeast Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula. It shares borders with Kosovo to the north, Serbia to the northeast, Bulgaria to the east, Greece to the south, and Albania to the west. The capital city is Skopje, which is known for its historical sites and diverse architecture.
North Macedonia has a population of about 2 million people and its official language is Macedonian. The country gained independence from Yugoslavia in 1991 and was officially recognized under its current name in 2019, following a long-standing naming dispute with Greece.
