Republic Aviation
Republic Aviation was an American aircraft manufacturer founded in 1939. The company became well-known for producing military aircraft, particularly during World War II and the Cold War. Its most famous designs include the P-47 Thunderbolt, a fighter aircraft, and the F-105 Thunderchief, a supersonic fighter-bomber.
In 1965, Republic Aviation merged with McDonnell Aircraft Corporation, which later became part of McDonnell Douglas. The company played a significant role in the development of military aviation technology and contributed to various aerospace advancements before ceasing operations in the 1980s.
