Rembrandt van Rijn
Rembrandt van Rijn was a Dutch painter and etcher, born on July 15, 1606, in Leiden, Netherlands. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest painters in European art history, known for his mastery of light and shadow, which is called chiaroscuro. Rembrandt's works often depict biblical scenes, portraits, and historical events, showcasing his ability to capture human emotion and character.
Throughout his career, Rembrandt created over 600 paintings, 300 etchings, and 2,000 drawings. Some of his most famous works include The Night Watch, The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp, and numerous self-portraits. He passed away on October 4, 1669, leaving a lasting legacy in the art
