Raymond of Burgundy
Raymond of Burgundy was a nobleman from the 11th century, known for his role in the early Crusades. He was the son of William I, Count of Burgundy and became the Count of Burgundy himself. Raymond played a significant part in the First Crusade, which aimed to reclaim the Holy Land from Muslim control.
In addition to his military endeavors, Raymond was also involved in the politics of the time. He was a key figure in the establishment of the County of Tripoli in present-day Lebanon, where he served as its first ruler. His leadership helped shape the Crusader states in the region.
