Rasas
In Indian aesthetics, "Rasas" refer to the emotional flavors or sentiments evoked through art, literature, and performance. There are traditionally nine primary Rasas, including Shringara (love), Hasya (laughter), and Veera (heroism). Each Rasa represents a distinct emotional experience that artists aim to convey to their audience.
The concept of Rasas is central to Natya Shastra, an ancient Indian treatise on performing arts. It emphasizes the importance of evoking these emotions to create a deeper connection between the performer and the audience, enriching the overall experience of art and culture.
