Rapid Response Team
A Rapid Response Team (RRT) is a specialized group of healthcare professionals who respond quickly to patients in acute distress within a hospital setting. Their primary goal is to prevent further deterioration of a patient's condition by providing immediate assessment and intervention. RRTs typically include doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists who work collaboratively to stabilize patients.
These teams are activated when a patient's condition suddenly worsens, such as experiencing difficulty breathing or a significant drop in blood pressure. By addressing critical situations promptly, RRTs help improve patient outcomes and reduce the need for more intensive interventions, such as transfers to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
